Last Day in Amsterdam

Instead of a day filled with trains buses and the bucolic rural setting of the Kroller-Mueller Museum we hung around the city for our last day. My bad, couldn’t get to sleep until 3AM so I slept in. More bad news, no pancakes today, decided to go cold turkey on the pancakes because we don’t believe they will be available in the Serengeti. But there was this from a joint called Oeufs…

Shakshuka!

Cute little breakfast place on the other side of the museum district in a neighborhood called De Pijp. Very trendy for the young folks, there was a long line waiting to get in to a cafe called “The Avocado Place”. This was the way our bill was presented…they were candy eggs.

Some scenes from the cool kids area of De Pijp. The 3 rowers in this picture below were women in their early to mid 70s doing their morning exercises!

Bicycling to school.

After a fabulous brunch we sat in the park surrounding the museums to wait for our entry time to the Moco Museum….

The last one is for power washing aficionados everywhere…and you know who you are.

Next up was some very modern art. The headline was Banksy and we saw quite a bit more at the small very cool Moco Museum.

Some of the artwork ….

Finished up the day wandering in quieter areas with beautiful canal and really cool houseboats…”houseboat snooping”

Tomorrow is up early to the airport and traveling all day.
