Bonnie & Joel's Excellent Adventures

High Tea at the Garden

We picked up the rental car and headed out for a 30 minute drive to Butchart Gardens for a day of roaming 55 acres of flower heaven. The former limestone quarry was transformed at the direction of Mrs. Butchart and one of the highlights was our high tea in the dining room. The weather was perfect about 60 degrees sunny and the gardens were more than delightful, simply devine. Everything seemed in bloom.

High Tea at 1:15 that we had booked on the Clipper on the way over from Seattle. Trifles, sweets and fancy sandwiches with the crusts trimmed.

A scenic drive back, dinner downtown and before you know it the next morning rolls around and it’s time to drop Princess Stephanie at the harbor airport for her to start her journey back to 100 degree Dallas.

Then we head out of Victoria towards our next stop in Ucluelet. But before we get completely out of the city we had to stop and do some house snooping. Bonnie found one that seemed decent.

A stop at Coombs, B. C. which was about half way through the drive for lunch at the famous Coombs General Store had been recommended by a couple of folks so we did the touristy thing and I had my first poutine so I just have to learn to ice skate and then I can apply for citizenship, eh. BTW Bonnie was a no go, total thumbs down on the fries with cheese curds and gravy….
