Bonnie & Joel's Excellent Adventures

Off to Italy

First moving day involves being packed the night before, check, getting up early, check, since we are in a hotel this leg, it means acquiring early caffeine hit via room service, check. Then hauling bags and butts to the airport to start the hurrying to wait.

Traffic between Piccadilly and London City airport turned a half hour taxi into an hour and quarter. Good we left early😀. It’s a very small airport for such a large city. One terminal small jets but more leg and butt room than American’s 777- go figure. We had two interesting characters on the plane. One up in first class who looked like a well preserved version of Billy Idol (Google it) dressed as if he was posing for Sergeant Peppers album cover (if you have to Google that pleases stop reading this blog-just kidding). No photos of him, couldn’t get a good shot after picking up my jaw. Then there was this guy.
Don’t know what the story was but it must have been a good one! Plus he had plenty of headroom in the little jet.

Great flight, again left early arrived early. 30 minutes after landing we were in the apartment.

Stetched our legs out with a walk to the Ponte Vecchio and passed by the Uffizi Gallery to a place called La Prosciutteria where we commenced the Italia portion of our foodapalooza. Manga

Lunch…who’s a happy camper?

That’s who

Dinner was even better than lunch. We had booked Trattoria Sostana after reading a story that Danny Meyer takes his staff there for inspiration when they are in Italy. Famous for a dish called Butter Chicken. Was so good that non-chicken eating Bonnie ate half of mine. Nuf said.  Add some pasta some fennel salami wine bread beans and top it with gelato. Makes a good travel day.

The small cup is Bonnie’s, mine is the large pistachio 👍🏻

Good lord when you get back you are going to have to build a spin room at your house to work off the food! Looks like you’re having a great time!
